The body of the beer stein is a smooth, black glazed, high quality stoneware decorated with a platinum wrap around design. Along the top border are the words "THE HISTORY OF THE GERMAN U-BOAT FLEET." The left side of the beer stein features a timeline detailing significant events in the history of the fleet of German U-Boats, beginning with the year 1906 when the first U-boat was developed. Images of different U-boat designs from 1906-1941 adorn the left side as well as the symbols for the different U-boat divisions.The center of the beer stein proudly displays a pewter badge representation of the U-Boat Badge, a medal awarded for participation in at least two engagements with the enemy, and the word "U-Boot-Flotte" in bold lettering. The medals distinguishing features are a profile of a German U-boat complete with flag and propeller and the national emblem of an eagle at the top of an oak leaf border.
The right side of the beer stein features more images of U-boat designs from 1938-2004 along with more U-boat divisions symbols. The timeline from the left side continues on the right beginning with events in 1941 and ending with present day.

A pewter medallion is situated at the center of the wrap around decoration featuring a relief of the Bismark. The body wrap features illustrations of the German Navy ships: Fregatte Deutschland, Radkorbette, Torpedoboot, Linienschiff, Leichter Kreuzer, Hilfskreuzer, Fregatte Friedrich Wilhelm, Minensuchboot, Panzerschiff Admiral Scheer, Schlachschiff Bismarck, U-Boot, Vorpostenboot, Zerstorer, Schnellboot S100, Zerstorer Molders, Tender, Schulschiff Gorth Fock, Fregatte Hamburg, Marineflieger (figher jet), SAR (search and rescue helicopter). Along the top border are the words, "THE HISTORY OF THE GERMAN AFRICA CORPS," in German. The left side of the stein features a timeline detailing significant events in the history of the Africa Corps, beginning with 1940 when the Italians launched offensive actions against North Korea. Images of military vehicles, soldiers, and various insignias also decorate the left side of the beer stein. The center of the stein proudly displays a pewter badge representation of the Afrikakorps seal, and the word "Afrikakorps" in bold lettering. Below the badge along the bottom of the beer stein is a sketch of a North African coast including state and major city lables. Along the top of the decal decoration are the different military names used for the German divisions over the two years they were in North Africa.
